Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in instructional technology, education, or related fields. Relevant experience may be substituted for the Bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis. A background in one or more area(s) of STEM is beneficial. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of the Teaching, Learning and Technology team. Ability to successfully manage small projects efficiently and effectively. Ability to creatively find ways to integrate effective educational technologies into a wide variety of subject matter across multiple disciplines/schools. Ability to create instructional materials in a sequential and easy to follow manner (Step-by- step instructions, video tutorials, etc). Ability speak in front of groups as large as 50 people. Ability to establish a strong working relationship with a wide range of faculty (from multiple disciplines) within an academic community. Knowledge of adult learning theories to provide effective professional development opportunities for faculty. Knowledge of best teaching practices in a face-to- face, blended, and online environments. Strong communications skills (both written and verbal) are required.

Serves as a primary resource for academic school to assist faculty in resolving pedagogical challenges and offering instructional strategies and alternative solutions related to specialized curriculum areas. Provides consultative advice on effective uses of technology to support teaching, learning, and research goals. Recommends instructional design and pedagogical strategies to faculty to enhance and increase student learning in face-to-face, blended, and online environments. Instructs and supports faculty use of academic applications, including the learning management system and multimedia applications.

Plans, coordinates and conducts professional development workshops on the use of pedagogical strategies and educational technologies. Creates and updates online tutorials (text and video) for a variety of instructional technology applications. Prepares and disseminates information concerning pedagogical strategies, innovative technologies, campus resources, and professional development opportunities. Maintains the TLT blogs, and creates social media posts to communicate to the campus. Manages special projects from beginning to end.

Serves as a consultant to the school on technology purchases as they relate to teaching and learning. Keeps abreast of and expands knowledge in latest developments in the educational technology field. Attends and/or develops presentations at conferences. Attends department annual planning retreat and then plans and implements goals and projects. Promotes awareness and use of TLT services on a broader level. Leverages resources and makes recommendations to enhance department.

Assists in the operation and maintenance of the Faculty Technology Center (FTC), faculty checkout equipment, and related equipment.
