Minimum Requirements

Associates degree or High School diploma and two years network and computer installation experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Experience in a call support center environment is required. Proficient knowledge with PCs, Macs, network devices, printers, projectors & other computer and A/V peripherals. Proficient analyst, technical & troubleshooting skills.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of fileservers & application servers. Knowledge of campus applications (MS Office, Outlook, and e-mail clients.) Must have knowledge of networks with Ethernet, wireless & other network protocols. Knowledge of A/V equipment as it relates to projection, audio and switching equipment. Excellent customer service, communication, verbal, written, & interpersonal skills. Ability to follow procedures and keep accurate records.

Additional Comments Regarding Position

1. Troubleshoots & resolves computer problems with teachers stations (including PCs, Mac computers, network hardware, cables, etc.) using remote tools and in person.
2. Install, troubleshoot, & repair connections to the campus network at the access layer.
3. Serves as first tier support for faculty in the use of classroom computers, A/V technologies and for escalating assistance when the scope of problems warrant. Initiates and maintains consistent communication about the status of equipment/system with customers and team members
4. Implement and support policies and procedures of the IT department. This includes Security and antivirus initiatives. Assist with IT project implementations.
5. Provide consultation, technical expertise & installation services to campus users for software & hardware purchases, upgrades & backup/ recovery needs.
